Lane Cove Theatre Company is presenting an original cabaret work with “Man Date: The Musical.”

Set for Friday and Saturday, the 5th and 6th of July, the musical play will headline Scott Dias and Jon Emmett as two fictional lecturers from the university. Be at the St Aidan’s Performance Space at 1 Christina Street before the presentation starts at 7:30 p.m.

Expect loads of laughter as these two characters share their good and bad experiences as someone else’s “bro.” Learn life lessons too as these characters share their personal journey through this amusing play.

A cabaret is a type of theatrical entertainment featuring musical numbers and the word itself was coined from the word “camberete/cambret,” which means little room. In the 15th century, small venues like cabarets were frequented by artists.

Man Date: The Musical is part of the first-ever Lane Cove Short Play competition, which servers as a platform for the performers, writers and directors to tell a story. Ticket prices are from $22 to $27. More original and special presentations like these will be happening throughout the year.

Lane Cove Theatre Company is a non-profit performing arts community threatre company. Made up local residents, this artistic endeavour has kept performing arts alive and enduring in the Lane Cove precinct since 1995.
